Tracking up to Lulea

 Campsite: First Camp Arcus-Lulea

On our way up to Lulea we stopped in Pitea, which virtually is the last place in northern Sweden to get LPG gas (apart from Kiruna way more north).

Timm had real trouble getting the nozzle attached (with gas escaping everywhere) and in the end, he went inside to get some help.

The two employee's that re-appeared were not much better (apart from bearing a plastic bag filled with hot water to defrost the nozzle) however, in the end, our gas tank was refilled.

By this time our nerves were shot as they happily sprayed the gas into the air and even attempted to knock the nozzle off our tank using a metal hammer. Sparks anyone?

While this palaver was going on, I saw another motorhome pull up in front of us with the couple waving happily - I must be honest - my thoughts at the time were "Oh wow, these are very friendly Swedish people for a change". Well..... turns out they were actually german and were probably quite happy to see other german travellers!

Ingo and his wife escaped the lockdowns in good ole Deutschland and they, like us, are just biding their time in the more relaxed Sweden. We have stayed in regular contact since then as they are following a similar route to us aka it's far too cold to stay this far north, we're heading further south :-)
